This past weekend I had my sister, my 2 cousins and their boyfriends come to B'ham for the Crawfish Boil. We got to see LL Cool J, 311, Jason Maraz, Katy Perry, All American Rejects, Snoop Dogg and a few others in concert. Katy Perry and the All American Rejects were my favorite. They interacted with the crowd and put on a really great show. But I have to say that hosting 6 people in my house was exhausting. From cooking to cleaning to just making sure everybody was taken care of in general is a lot to handle. Mark had a great time but also couldn't wait till it was over so I would calm down and stop stressing. :) Then about an hour after everybody left Sunday afternoon we got a call from our friends (also Mark's neighbors) saying that a tornado had hit their street and he had damage to his house. Turns out that his house probably had the least amount of damage with just a limb on the roof, a shutter that was hanging by a thread and debris everywhere. He was lucky. About 5 of his neighbors had trees that fell on their house, one on their car, and one had their double window sucked right out of the house. All the neighbors said that it was very scary so I'm glad that we weren't there. Thankfully nobody was hurt. I heard a report on the radio the next day saying that the weather people confirmed that there were 5 tornado's that hit in and around the Birmingham area. Very scary day!
So after hosting my family, cleaning the yard for hours, not sleeping very well all weekend, I was exhausted by the time I got off work Monday. I decided to skip the gym and go home. I took a bath when I got home and fell asleep in the bath tub! (Not unusual for me) Then I got out, ate a biscuit, laid down and was out with 15 minutes. I slept from 6pm to 5:30 the next morning! It was great!!
Again, I'll try to post pics from the Crawfish Boil, the tornado, and I still owe some pics from camping. I keep forgetting to get my camera cord from Marks house. I have absolutely nothing to do this weekend and I can't wait so hopefully I'll post the pics then.
Happy Hump Day! It's another day of storms! Stay safe!
